One of the most authentic ways to experience Texas is by attending the annual Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Each year, the event attracts more than 2 million visitors to enjoy thrilling rodeo action, top musical performances, and a vibrant carnival midway. Since its inception in 1932, it has become the largest event of its kind worldwide, leaving a significant impact on the livestock, entertainment, and rodeo industries. In 2025, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will take place from March 4 to March 23 at NRG Park. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes as NRG Park is large and requires a fair amount of walking. The Rodeo is a food lover’s paradise, offering a variety of indulgent, Instagram-worthy treats. You’ll find classic options like Texas-sized turkey legs and funnel cakes, as well as more adventurous offerings like deep-fried Oreos and Flamin' Hot Cheetos roasted corn on the cob. Wine enthusiasts can head to the Champion Wine Garden at Carruth Plaza, where you’ll find a wide selection of wines from the Rodeo’s International Wine Competition.

Carnival
The Rodeo carnival features over 80 rides, offering everything from the La Grande XL Ferris wheel to various ground-level attractions. Don’t miss the chance to take in the views of Houston from the Ferris wheel’s air-conditioned cabins.
