Brandi Myasia turned her post-surgery hobby into a Houston cultural hub. At her shop, sneakers become skates—Air Jordans, Docs, even cowboy boots—and the vibe’s pure joy. With lessons that draw 100+ skaters, collabs with Discovery Green, YMCA, & TSU, and parade appearances, she’s proving skating’s heart beats right here.

Skate Church – Pearland
What started as a Sunday skate between friends became a full-on community. Now they host themed meetups & family skates at Clearbrook City Park, uniting roller bladers, dancers & derby players. It’s less about competition & more about connection.

South Side Roller Derby – Pearland
Once all elbows & adrenaline, South Side’s crowd now skates for the love of movement. Founder Brenda Holley says the derby may have softened, but the community tripled. Her mission? Trick you into loving cardio—with wheels.

Space City Skaters – Citywide
From freestyle slalom to street skating, this crew keeps H-Town rolling. Their annual Sk8 Houston weekend draws skaters from across the map, reminding everyone that the key to keeping the culture alive is simple: keep creating new skaters.
